My collie collection (so far...)

I love collie dogs, and have ever since I was a little girl watching The New Lassie.  Unfortunately, I am not currently able to have a collie, mainly because I live next to a major highway and there is simply too much risk of puppo getting hit on the road and killed.  So I have decided to surround myself with lovely collie things!  I started collecting a few months back and so far have amassed a decent sized collection, most of it coming from local antique shops and thrift stores.

Here is my collection!

This antique collie cross-stitch came from eBay.  I do not have the patience to do cross-stitching myself, so it was nice to find one that was ready made.

This plush Lassie also came from eBay.  I believe she was a tie-in with The New Lassie TV series.

This 1948 calendar came from a local antique store and is what "flipped the switch" on my collecting collie things.  All the months are intact on the calendar pad and I had it custom framed at my local framing shop.  Also on top of the CD stand are a few more collie figurines, all found at another local antique store.

This is "Oliver"!  He was a Facebook Marketplace find.  Boy, did I have fun with my mother when I told her I was bringing a collie puppy home.  (Albeit not a real one...)

The puppy on the wall came from Value Village, and most of the collie figurines on this shelf came from a nice lady on one of the Facebook collie groups I'm in.  I especially love the large one on the left.

More figurines.  The large one on the desk is actually a chalkware carnival prize.  All of these came from a local antique store.

This print was found at Value Village and is one of my favorites.  It's titled "Wake Up!  It's Christmas Morning" and was painted by Arthur J. Elsley in 1909.  Elsley was known for his whimsical paintings of children and pets and his work was frequently featured in magazines and calendars.

And this print was another eBay find.  It's called "Friends" and is by Sara Moon.

Finally, this is my "Collie Crossing" sign.  Another eBay find.

So there you have it.  My collection continues to grow and I am sure I will have more to post before too long.  Woof!
